Under the government’s Scrappage Scheme, many big vehicle manufacturing companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota etc. are offering a discount of 1.5 percent or Rs 20,000 (Kia Ki Caro pr Discount) to customers on buying a new car.
However, considering the prices of the vehicles, this amount is very less. Talking about the highest discount (TATA Ki Caro par Discount), luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz India is at the forefront in this matter. This company is giving a discount of up to Rs 25000.
Such discounts are available on commercial vehicles
Commercial vehicle manufacturing companies such as TATA Motors, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Force Motors, Isuzu Motors and SML Isuzu are offering up to 3 percent discount on ex-showroom prices on the scrapping price of commercial cargo vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes. At the same time, a discount of 1.25 percent is being given to the customers by these companies on vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tonnes.

The government is now preparing for this

In this direction, the government has also started preparations to set up 60 registered scrapping centers and 75 Automated Testing Stations.
